House of Harlot assists with Flaminia Saccucci Degree Show Collection
Flaminia Saccucci, St Martins Graduate and L’Oreal Professional Young Talent Award 1st Prize winner, approached House of Harlot some months ago, to seek our expertise in working with latex rubber for her degree show collection. Her beautiful and precise designs required complex printing and assembly, and we were glad to help.
Mark Jenkins of K2 Screen, collaborated with Flaminia on the bulk printing for the collection, working closely with her and her print samples, origination and experiments. Printing on sheet latex rubber is a trick in itself, as the material stretches and repositions itself during the print process, making accurate registration of complex multi-screen prints very challenging. Flaminia’s wonderful, fresh flower prints, darkened with the more aggressive tyre track motif were made up into flared dresses, narrow jackets and skin-tight leggings.
Over several weeks we worked closely with Flaminia to get the finishes she wanted, and we congratulate her on her success both at at St. Martins and for her well deserved L’Oreal prize, and wish her every success in the future.
